Just 19 miles off the north-west coast of Mahé, this soaring vegetation-draped granite island is the third largest and most mountainous of the group. Though just 15 minutes’ flight away by helicopter (15kgs luggage allowance), here you will find yourself in an utterly tranquil natural world - an exhilarating tropical enclave where you can explore on foot along mapped trails through lush forests, and by sea to discover secluded beaches and coves and enjoy superb swimming and snorkelling (subject to tides).
Silhouette Island Lodge lies scattered amid coconut palms beside the sands of Anse La Passe, with accommodation in 10 charming Standard and two larger Superior bungalows - with seafacing terrace, shower (bath in Superior), minibar, mosquito net, high ceiling and fans. Superiors also have separate single bedroom. There’s a delightful little restaurant featuring delicious Creole and international cuisine, a boutique, a Dive Centre with supervised boat dives for certified divers, FREE use of snorkelling equipment - and snorkelling, big-game and deep-sea fishing trips (charge). |
