For the visitor to the Caribbean not in search of nightlife or ‘hotspots’, but wanting only to relax in a setting of quiet, exclusive and above all hospitable charm, the style of things here on St Kitts & Nevis will provide the perfect therapy! Each island is dominated by its own volcano, has rolling fields of sugar cane, and offers a relaxing setting for discovering something of the ‘true’ Caribbean, with interesting history, delicious local cuisine, exhilarating walks and colourful birdlife. On St Kitts the little capital of Basseterre has a special charm - while at Brimstone Hill the old British fort is one of the best preserved in the Caribbean. Charlestown, Nevis’s capital, is probably the only place on the island where you’ll find anything approaching a ‘bustle’ - and at the 3-mile long Pinney’s Beach you’ll find one of the best beaches in the eastern Caribbean. |
